Personal Library Design

Stacks

For books that deserve a room of their own.

We transform spare rooms, hallways, and forgotten alcoves into personal libraries built around how you actually read — sprawled on a daybed, standing at a ladder, or cross-legged on the floor.

Darius selects every board by hand. He sources quarter-sawn white oak, steam-bent cherry, and reclaimed pine — matching the grain to the room's existing woodwork before a single cut is made.

Trained under a third-generation cabinet maker in Vermont. Builds all rolling ladder hardware in-house. Known for shelving that holds 400 books without a single shimmed joint.

Miriam organises libraries the way editors organise manuscripts — with intention. She's merged two lifelong collections into one coherent system more times than she can count.

Former rare books librarian at Yale. Develops bespoke classification systems: by reading mood, by spine height, by the decade you first read them. No two libraries are organised the same way.
